This top-quality sterling silver Wild Horse ring was created by Gloria Begay, wife of the late Navajo silversmith, Kirk Smith. Gloria Begay always worked along side her husband and we are glad to see that she is continuing the family tradition by creating her own jewelry now. If you are familiar with Kirk's work, you will see a lot of similarities - the vintage revival finished sterling silver, the quality of the stones and the whole overall look.
The genuine Wild Horse stones are a mix of chocolate brown and creamy white swirls. The stones are set on a fancy triple wire shank ring. Like her husband, Gloria uses only the best stones and materials.
The face of the ring measures 2" long and the ring weighs 24 grams. Exceptional quality and workmanship. Size 9 only.
Brand new in perfect condition. Stamped sterling and has Gloria Begay's hallmark. Certificate of Authenticity included and gift box included.
Wild Horse, also called Crazy Horse, is a white stone typically with a lot of deep reddish brown to dark chocolate brown matrix. Its gemological name is magnesite. It costs as much and sometimes more than turquoise because there are only two known jewelry grade deposits of magnesite -- one near Globe, AZ in a national forest and another in California. It was first discovered near the Globe, AZ copper mine in 1995.
