Navajo artist Nelson Morgan created this Sun Kachina necklace / pin / pendant combination from sparkling sterling silver and genuine turquoise. The center kachina is detachable to become a stand-alone pin or pendant. The sun kachina, which represents the spirit of the sun, has a number of other names. Tawa is one of his most common, but he also goes by the sun shield kachina.
The center kachina measures 2-1/2 inches long by 1-1/2 inch wide. The entire necklace measures 20 inches end-to-end and hangs down 12-1/2 from the back of the neck to the bottom of the center kachina. The center kachina is detachable to become a stand-alone pin or pendant or it can be attached to a different chain. Similarly the necklace can be used with other Nelson Morgan pendants.
