We have just recently become aware of the fantastic handmade jewelry of the extremely talented Navajo silversmith Nick Nez. Nick has shown his amazing jewelry designs at the 2019 Santa Fe Indian Market and the 2020 Heard Museum show. When he designs a piece a jewelry, all the lines/curves flow in a way that makes the jewelry unique and one of a kind. He works with heavy gauge sterling silver and multiple types of high grade stones.
This bracelet features many different textures including an overlay technique in which designs are cut out of one piece of silver that is then soldered to another solid piece of silver. The bottom sheet is blackened through oxidation and sometimes scratched, making the designs stand out in relief.
The bracelet is set with an amazing natural high grade Tyrone Turquoise stone from New Mexico. This Tyrone turquoise stone is gorgeous with deep blues, vivid medium blues and chocolate brown matrix with some specks of iron pyrite. This Turquoise stone rivals any turquoise I have seen to date.
The bracelet measures 1-3/4 inches wide at the front with an inside end-to-end measurement a bit under 5-1/2 inches
and a 7/8 inch gap. Weighs 81 grams.
Brand new and in perfect condition. Gift Box and Certificate of Authenticity included. Hallamarked by the artist Nick Nez
