Mary Tafoya creates unique contemporary works of art. Her colorful abstract jewelry has become a favorite of many Native American jewelry lovers.

Here's a pair of Santo Domingo hand made mosaic inlaid earrings, featuring apple coral, turquoise, pipestone, serpentine, jet and other stones & shells. The earrings measure 7/8 inch long, not counting the earwires, by 3/8 inch wide and they are very light-weight, weighing only 1.9 grams each. There is a tiny hairline crack in the turquoise on the reverse side of one of the earrings, not noticeable to the naked eye (as shown in the photo). But since these earrings are reversible, it is not really a problem. I have reduced the price of these earrings because of it.

Brand new. Certificate of Authenticity and gift box included with your purchase.

About the artist: Mary Tafoya lives on Santo Domingo Pueblo and works with her husband Lorenzo who is also a jeweler. Her jewelry is colorful, somewhat "folksy", even whimsical, and her unique designs are extremely popular. She learned her jewelry making techniques from her parents. She has taken this ancient art of mosaic where no one else has, while staying very traditional in technique. She uses different types and colors of stones, unusual shapes of shell, cutting them at different angles to get the desired look. Her unique designs are extremely popular.
