Up for your consideration is this amazing over-sized Native American Simbircite and Onyx sterling silver pendant, hand made by Navajo silversmiths, Everett & Mary Teller. Have you ever heard of Simbircite? I had never heard of it until the Tellers showed me this remarkable pendant. Simbercite or Simbircite from the Russian city of Simbirsk (now Ulianovsk) is one of those jaw-dropping gemstones that leaves you breathless. The stone is beautiful, rich and understated, amber color, with shades of brown, white, and black. It is an agatized material. Formed over 160 million years ago, Simbircite with veins of pyrite is both a gemstone and fossil. The silvery vein running through the stone looks like a river.
The pendant features a large oval black onyx stone set atop the Simbircite stone. The back of the pendant is stamped with symbols such as rain clouds, cacti, bears, crossed arrows, crosses, lizards, buffalo, stars, cow skulls and more.
This amazing pendant measures 3-1/2 inches long, including the over-sized bale, by 2 inches wide at the widest point and it weighs about 48 grams. The bale can handle a necklace up to 3/8 inch in diameter. The pendant is shown with one of Travis Teller's woven sterling silver rope necklace (sold separately and available in different lengths)
This one-of-a-kind pendant will dress up any outfit and everyone will be asking you about it, I guarantee! Everett & Mary never fail to impress me with their choice of high quality stones and contemporary designs.
