Heavy Native American handmade sterling silver & turquoise bracelet, created by Navajo silversmith, Gilbert Tom. Four natural Royston turquoise stones flank a large natural White Buffalo stone. The stones are set in an old pawn style setting. The scalloped edges, applied silver work and deep stamp work accentuate the stones. The Royston stones are a bright turquoise color with very little matrix.
The white buffalo stone measures 1-5/8 X 1-1/8 inches. The turquoise stones measure 1-1/4 X 5/8 inches and 7/8 by 1/2 inches.
The bracelet measures 1-3/4 inch wide at the center stone with an inside end-to-end measurement of 5-1/2 inch plus a 1-1/4 inch opening gap and weighs 160.3 grams. (That's 5.78 ounces!) My wrist is 6 inches around and the bracelet is loose on me.
Brand new and in perfect condition. Gift Box and Authenticity Card included. Hallmarked by the artist, Gilbert Tom. Gilbert Tom manages to bring together the traditional vintage look with the refined silver work of today.
White Buffalo is a white stone with light to charcoal gray, black and brown inclusions. It's sometimes called "white turquoise" but it is not turquoise. The stone in this bracelet is white buffalo from the Otteson family's mine near Tonapah Nevada. Fortunately the White Buffalo stone goes very well with most colors, and it looks fabulous with turquoise, as can be seen by this bracelet.
