Up for your consideration is this brand new Native American ~ Navajo ~ handmade sterling silver bracelet, created by long-time Navajo silversmith, Thomas Charley and his son Colton Charley. The Charley's jewelry features rows of domed silver bars encircling a center dome accented by twisted silver rope. By constructing it in this manner the jewelry is lighter weight (and more comfortable) than if it were made with a solid casting style.
The bracelet measures 1-1/2 wide with an inside end to end measurement of 5-1/4 inch plus a 1-5/16 inch gap. It weighs about 77.5 grams. My wrist measures 6 inches around and the bracelet is too big for me.
Brand new and in perfect condition. Certificate of Authenticity included. Hallmarked TC which is the family hallmark for Thomas & Colton Charley. Purchased directly in person from Colton Charley.
Many artists are copying his style, but Thomas Charley is the originator of this unique contemporary style. Thomas Charley is full blooded Native American Indian. He was born in 1952 on the Navajo Reservation and has been creating jewelry since 1977. His son Colton Charley learned the art of silversmithing from his father as a child growing up. Colton now works together with his father , and has begun taking over the family business. Colton says, "It's something I know and something I enjoy doing so I started making a living doing it and I hope one of these days to pass this art down to my own kids and keep the tradition alive."
