Check out this unique folksy bird pin/pendant handmade by Kewa artist Mary Tafoya! Mary Tafoya creates fabulous contemporary works of art. Her colorful abstract jewelry has become a favorite of many Native American jewelry lovers.

This hand made mosaic inlaid bird featuring a turquoise beak and turquoise inlaid body is outlined with white alabaster and black jet. Her signature "Conus" shell makes the tail of the bird - she slices through the shell, which creates the swirl like design. The bird measures 3 inches long by 1-1/2 inches tall and weighs 25 grams. Mary has attached a pin and necklace bail so the bird can be used in either mode. The clip-on style bale will handle a chain over 1/8 inch wide.

Brand new and in perfect condition. Hallmarked by the artist. It's etched M L Tafoya with a butterfly. Authenticity Card and gift box included with your purchase.

About the artist: Mary Tafoya, born Mary Coriz, learned her jewelry making techniques from her parents. Her pieces have fooled many of her customers who think her designs are painted on. But they are the natural colors of her materials that have been intricately inlaid. Her unique designs are extremely popular.
