Navajo artist Calvin Peterson created this ring featuring a Man in the Maze design on a sterling silver ring shank. Please ignore the reflections seen in the face of the ring - the silver is very reflective and hence it was difficult to get a good view of the ring face straight on.

The face of the ring is 7/8 by 5/8 inches and the ring weighs about 15 grams. Various sizes avaiable. Brand new and in perfection condition. Hallmarked. Gift box and Certificate of Authenticity Included with your purchase.

The overlay technique uses multiple layers of sterling silver soldered together to create a three dimensional effect. The top layer is a handmade, hand cut overlay created from a sheet of sterling silver that is then bonded to the base layer of sterling. The base layer background is usually oxidized, which turns the silver surface black. The oxidation brings out the contrast between the two pieces and makes the individual designs more visible.
