This exquisite vintage Zuni turquoise MOP inlay bracelet & ring set was created by Zuni lapidarist and silversmiths, Wayne & Josie Panteah. The jewelry is also inlaid with a beautiful smokey shimmering brown stone or shell. I am not sure what it is - could it be tortoise shell or smokey mother of pearl? The inlay reaches all the way around to the back of the bracelet.
The bracelet measures 5/8 wide and has an inside end-to-end measurement of 5 plus a non-adjustable opening gap of 1-1/8. The bracelet weighs 40.4 grams.
The face of the matching ring measures 1-1/8 long by 1/2 wide and weighs 8.8 grams. It is a size 4-1/2.
Wayne is one of four famous Panteah brothers, all of whom are accomplished Zuni silversmiths & lapidarists. Wayne and his brothers Martin, Augustine and Florence Panteah are all featured in the first two volumes of the book Zuni: The Art and the People by Barbara Bell as well as other Zuni jewelry reference books.
