This classic Navajo traditional revival style butterfly pin was actually created by Anglo New Mexico silversmith Joe Eby. Set with a round piece of light purple charoite, the stampwork on the wings is sensational. The pin measures 2 tall by 1-3/4 wide.

Hallmarked with a spider which has an E stamped on the abdomen Certificate of Authenticity included and gift box included. An outstanding piece for anyone looking for something that is very eye-catching.

Joe Eby is an Anglo silversmith and a native of New Mexico who makes jewelry in the Navajo Traditional Revival style. He is particularly exacting in his work and always uses fine, natural turquoise when setting stones. He specializes in insect pins, a long-honored endeavor in Navajo smithing and he excels at this. Like many other Anglo jewelry-makers we've met over the years, Joe had no tradition of such work in his family, so he had to actively seek the knowledge necessary to make his vision reach fruition. In short, Joe makes silverwork because he has to and he knows that he can't easily sell his work because he is not Indian (though some shops sell his work as Indian-made).
