This Native American sterling silver turquoise ring was handmade by Navajo silversmith, Cooper Willie. The ring features a natural Sonoran Gold turquoise stone, set in a shadowbox setting with a cut silver frame. Sonoran Gold turquoise is a fabulous new stone mined in Mexico near the city of Cananea. The mine is located at the Campitos Mountain just outside of the city, about a 35-mile drive from the Arizona border. The local economy relies heavily on the large copper mines in the area and turquoise has long been a by-product of these mines.

The ring is made from heavy grade sterling silver, the shank is 1/8 inch thick! The wide band provides a comfortable fit and prevents the ring from turning around on your finger. The front of the ring measures 7/8-inch tall and the ring weighs 24 grams.

Brand new and in perfect condition. The ring is stamped sterling and has Cooper Willie's hallmark. It also has the hallmark HBH for the Heavy by Hand trading company in Albuquerque, which uses heavier gauge silver and premium stones. So the ring is hallmarked C Willie and also HBH with an Indian head, for the company Heavy By Head. Certificate of Authenticity included and gift box included. Size 9.

Navajo artist Cooper Willie comes from a family of well known silversmiths, including Rudy, Ronnie, Lonnie and Happy Piasso.
