Navajo handmade sterling silver concho pendant, created by well-respected Navajo silversmith, Thomas Charley, and his son Colton. The pendant features rows of domed silver bars accented by twisted silver rope. By constructing it in this manner the jewelry is much, much lighter weight (and more comfortable) than if it were of a solid casting style.
The pendant measures 1-1/8 inch wide and weigh about 8.5 grams each. The over-sized bales can handle a chain a bit over 3/8 inch wide.
Brand new and in perfect condition. Certificate of Authenticity included. Hallmarked TC and purchased directly from the artist's son, Colton Charley, who works along side his father.
Many artists are copying his style, but Thomas Charley is the originator of this unique contemporary style. Thomas Charley was born in 1952 into the Navajo Reservation and he has been creating jewelry since 1977.
