This fabulous contemporary yet traditional Santo Domingo hand made turquoise necklace with sterling silver accents was made by Kewa artist Nestoria Coriz. Length: 24 inches. Item #5118

This gorgeous Santo Domingo all hand made Blue Gem turquoise and sterling silver necklace was made by Kewa artist, Nestoria Coriz. Nestoria makes every part of the necklace, including all the sterling silver findings, silver disks, barrels and beads used in the necklace as well as cutting and polishing the stones.



This necklace measures about 24 end-to-end. The largest silver bead at the center of the necklace is 1 inch in diameter. Two stamped sterling silver barrels and a few sponge coral beads are interspersed among the genuine Blue Gem turquoise beads which graduate in size from 1 inch to about 3/8 inch. Sterling Silver beads at the back of the neck complete the piece.

This necklace is quite simply put - a masterpiece!

About the artist: Nestoria Coriz is the daughter of Lupe Pena and granddaughter of Santiago and Trinidad Pena. She began learning all facets of heishi, bead and stone work from her grandparents at the age of 6. Nestoria is now in her mid 60s and has created numerous award-winning necklaces. We think this one is certainly worthy of an award!
