Consider this top-quality, one-of-a-kind Native American handmade sterling silver and genuine Variscite ring, created by Navajo silversmith, L. Bruce Hodgins. Becoming bored using the expected turquoise in jewelry, Hodgins incorporates exotic stones in his three dimensional concept jewelry. Variscite is a relatively rare phosphate mineral. It is sometimes confused with turquoise however, variscite is usually greener in color. Variscite from Nevada typically contains black spiderwebbing in the matrix like this stone. Most of the Nevada variscite recovered in recent decades has come from mines located in Lander County.

The big beautiful stone is set in a beautifully carved setting. There is a wide shank with intricate hand stamping that accentuates the setting and the stone.

The face of the ring measures 1-1/8 long by 1 wide, the band narrows to a bit over 1/4 wide at the back. The ring weighs 24.5 grams. Size 10. This ring works well for either a man or a woman..
