How to Determine Your Ring Size

Ring Size Guidelines

The best way to determine your ring size is to get it measured at a jewelry store. However, if that is not possible, you can determine an approximate ring size by using one of the following methods. Measure the circumference (distance around) your finger with something flexible, such as a piece of string, and then place the string next to a metric ruler (a ruler with millimeter measurements). Or, measure the diameter (distance across) in millimeters of the inside of a ring you currently wear. Find the nearest measurement on the chart below. That's approximately your ring size.

When in doubt between two sizes, it is always safer to go to the next larger ring size. Also, if your knuckles are larger than where you wear your ring, measure the circumference of your knuckle and then pick something between the two sizes. Measure your finger in warm temperatures at the end of the day when the fingers are largest.

When searching for a particular ring size on our website, enter SZ followed by the size number in the search box. (Do not enter a space between SZ and the size number). For example, if you want a size 7 ring, enter SZ7 in the search box. That would return all rings in the size 7 range (7 thru 7-3/4).

Re-sizing rings: Unfortunately we do not know how to re-size rings. But your local jeweler should be able to re-size your ring for a nominal charge ($10-20). Certain Native American rings should never be re-sized however. Attempting to re-size an inlay ring, may cause the inlay to discolor, crack or pop out immediately or at a later date. So we strongly discourage you from re-sizing inlay jewelry.

RING SIZE ADJUSTERS:

"Ring Snuggies" are helpful if a ring is too large or you have big knuckles. Ring Snuggies are little clear plastic tubes that fit over the shank of your ring, to keep the ring in place. They are easy to put on and remove while the ring is on your finger. You can cut them to fit any size, they do not damage your rings and they are hardly noticeable to anyone. These neat little devices also keep your ring from rolling sideways. Package of 6 assorted sizes available on our website - see below. (Ring Snuggies are also available at Claire's, Walmart and even on Ebay)

International Ring Size Convertor: Click on the following link link to directed to an Online International Ring Size Conversion calculator. The calculator is hosted on another website but we found this ring size converter to be very helpful. www.onlineconversion.com Don't forget to come back to our website after you have determined your U.S. ring size!!
