Here's a fantastic handmade beaded necklace with a teardrop shaped turquoise and silver centerpiece that we recently purchased from one of our favorite pawn shops in Gallup, New Mexico.
The 2-3/8" tall by 1-1/2" wide centerpiece is a teardrop-shaped shadowbox with cut-out designs and a genuine turquoise stone. The beaded 22" long necklace has two different types of hollow handmade beads - 1/4" round bench beads and 1" long melon beads.
There is no artist's hallmark nor any indication of the silver content,
as is often the case for Native American jewelry from this time period, but it tests positive as coin silver (.900/90%) or sterling silver (.925/92.5%). Excellent condition, needing only a gentle polish.
