$ 799.99     SOLD     Back

This outstanding Native American handcrafted Sterling Silver Multi stone Inlaid Link Choker Necklace was designed by Calvin Begay and inlaid by Navajo artist, Pam Daniels.

Link inlay pieces are one of the most labor intensive type of Native American jewelry. In the case of this necklace, not only is each link channel inlaid with multiple tiny pieces of semi-precious stones, but then each bezel is created by hand and hand connected with hand made hinges.

This incredible necklace features 47 individual links inlaid with two type of turquoise, lapis, red and orange spiny oyster, purple sugalite and lab created blue opal. The links range in size from the center link, which is 3/4" by 1/4", graduating down to 1/4" squares at the ends.  The back of every bead is solid sterling silver. The total length is about 17" around when closed. There is a hidden clasp and safety chain.

The matching drop hinged earrings for pierced ears feature the same design and stones. The top turquoise stud is 1/4" wide and the bottom rectangle is 5/8" by slightly more than 3/16" for a total length of 1".

Calvin Begay is an award winning artist, jeweler, designer and master craftsman. Starting as jewelry maker, he has evolved into a designer, creating copyrighted designs for A Touch of Santa Fe and other Gallup New Mexico establishments. Calvin designed this necklace for his former employer, A Touch of Santa Fe of Gallup, New Mexico. TSF retains the copyright and this necklace was made by the Native American silversmiths and lapidarists who work at TSF. This necklace & earring set is hallmarked Calvin Begay and Pam Daniels as well as TSF and Sterling.

Calvin has won numerous awards and his jewelry has been featured in many books and magazines. Calvin's work is prized by clients and collectors, not only in the Southwest, but throughout the United Stated and the world. Calvin Begay creates unforgettable pieces of wearable art.
