Here's a fantastic pre-owned handmade bead necklace with a large teardrop shaped turquoise and silver pendant centerpiece that we purchased from an estate sale auction. The heavy over-sized pendant is beautifully hand made with silver overlay, twisted silver rope and carved edges. The big genuine teal blue turquoise stone in the center of the pendant has a small hairline crack beneath the surface that does not detract from the piece and can only be seen with a magnifying glass. The stone is secure in the bezel. The necklace was made by Navajo Johnathan Nez, but we have no idea how old the necklace is. The pendant is NOT removable from the beaded necklace.
The 3" tall by 2-3/8" wide centerpiece is a teardrop-shaped shadowbox with overlay designs and a brightly colored genuine turquoise stone. The beaded 26" long necklace has four different types of hollow handmade beads and the largest beads are 5/8" diameter by 7/8" long. The entire necklace weighs 5-1/2 ounces. This is a large heavy necklace.
Excellent condition, needing only a gentle polish. This necklace is a definite A++! Hallmarked "Johnathan Nez" "Sterling" in script with an engraver.
Navajo silversmith Jonathan Nez makes beautiful pieces of silver. He is capable of making blue-ribbon showpieces or great everyday favorites. Jonathan is the younger brother of Leonard Nez. Jewelry making is a family tradition.
