Navajo Sammy Smith Native American Multi-gem Micro-Inlay Pendant

Native American micro-inlay teardrop shaped pendant by Navajo Sammy Smith. Colorful Kachina with a starry night sky background. Measures 2-1/4" by 1-1/8", not including the over-sized bail. Impeccable inlay! Item#2956

This Native American handmade sterling silver pendant is inlaid with a multitude of colorful stones and shells in an incredibly detailed design. Semiprecious stones, including turquoise, gaspeite, spiny oyster, coral, an irridecent purple stone (not       sure what this is) and small dots of sterling silver are meticulously inlaid on a background of Acoma jet black. 

The main pendant piece measures 2-1/4" by 1-1/8". Including the bale, the piece is almost 3" long, almost 1/4" thick and weighs 13.9 grams. The over-sized sterling silver bale can accommodate a chain or silver beads up to 1/2"-5/8" wide. 

Brand new and in perfect condition. The colorful inlay is impeccable! Gift Box and Certificate of Authenticity included. The pendant is hallmarked S/S for Sammy Smith and Sterling.

Please excuse the reflections of the camera that can be seen in the highly polished sterling silver.

Navajo artist Sammy Smith is one of the top micro-inlayers in Gallup, New Mexico and yet his work is still relatively affordable, compared to the works of Clayton Tom, Erwin and Ervin Tsosie.
