Miniscule pieces of turquoise, lapis, coral, gaspeite, light purple phosphosiderite, and more have been painstakingly cut and set into the black jet, and then polished to perfection.

Jim Harrison is a well-known Navajo jeweler who learned this art from Hopi artist Preston Monongye. He uses stones and silver dots to create landscapes, night skies or depictions of Navajo Yé'ii, or supernatural beings.
