Vintage 1970'S Native American Bear Claw Turquoise Coral Silver Bolo

Vintage Native American made Silver Bolo with genuine claw, spiderweb Turquoise and branch coral. 2-1/8" tall by 1-3/4" wide. Item#2087

$ 95.00     Available: 1     Back

This very old authentic Native American hand wrought bolo is set with a genuine claw, spiderweb turquoise and natural coral. In very good condition, this bolo tie appears to have been well cared for, with no significant scratches or other signs of excessive wear. The oxidized background is a bit uneven, but its more noticeable due to the camera flash.

Overall, the bolo plaque measures 2-1/8" tall by 1-3/4" wide. The back of the main bolo piece is not silver, but all the decorative parts on the front of the bolo test positive as silver (the twisted silver rope, the silver beads, and the silver cap at the top of the claw). It is attached to a braided leather cord that is 35" long including the tips (the tips are not silver). As is the case more often that not with the earlier Native American jewelry, this piece is not marked by it's maker.

The bolo slide on the backs on Native American bolos can aid in determining the age of a vintage bolo. The back of this bolo slide is marked "Bennet Pat Pend". Slides marked with a "Bennett Pat Pend" slide were made from 1967 - 1983.
