This hand made silver & turquoise ring was recently purchased as part of a large estate collection of Native American jewelry from the 1970's. The genuine turquoise stone is a rich greenish-blue color with sandy colored matrix. There is a surface hairline crack on one side of the stone and apparently an industrious silversmith added the silver bar accent across the lower corner of the face of the ring to both hide the crack and add stability to the stone.
The ring measures measures 3/4" tall by 1/2" wide and narrows to 1/8" wide at the back. Size 10. Weighs 9.5 grams. circa 1970's.The ring is unsigned and unmarked but it tests positive as coin silver or higher.
