Interesting & collectible pre-owned Native American handmade sterling silver overlay tab & hollow stamped bead necklace, created by world-reknown Navajo silversmith Tommy Singer. We recently obtained this necklace from an estate sale auction. Tommy is considered by many as one of the greatest contemporary Indian jewelry silversmiths of our time. His Native American Indian jewelry work is coveted by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Tommy incorporates many traditional sandpainting and rug designs of the Navajo People into his jewelry. Tommy began creating jewelry full-time at the age of 21. His early works were done in the Silver overlay technique. In recent years, Tommy has returned to his roots by creating Exquisite Silver Overlaid Jewelry with intricate designs.
The necklace has 8 silver overlay tabs measuring 1-3/4" long to 1-1/4" long. The 19" long silver beaded necklace has 4 different size beads, some are stamped and some are plain. The necklace weighs about 60 grams. The exact age of the necklace is unknown. Every tab is hallmarked as shown. We have no idea how old the necklace is.
Excellent condition, needing only a gentle polish.
