Navajo Dead Pawn Turquoise Silver 4-piece Necklace

Traditional Navajo made turquoise cluster silver necklace - Dead Pawn from Gallup New Mexico pawn shop. Measures 27" long end-to-end and 19" long from back of neck to bottom of silver leaf. Hallmarked MM. Item#2450

$ 165.00     SOLD     Back

This Native American handcrafted sterling silver & turquoise necklace was recently obtained from my favorite little pawn shop in Gallup, New Mexico. All the jewelry from this pawn shop was pawned by Native Americans living in the local area. Gallup is the "pawn capital" of the Southwest, close to the Navajo and Zuni reservations, and you must make it a point to visit sometime.

The four-piece necklace measures 27" long end-to-end and 19" long from back of neck to bottom of silver leaf and weighs 40 grams. Seven Sleeping Beauty turquoise stones are set on the 2" tall by 1-3/4" wide centerpiece. Hallmarked by the artist MM and stamped Sterling. I don't recognize the hallmark. The exact age of the necklace is unknown. Excellent condition.
