Navajo Dead Pawn Inlay Dragonfly Pin Pendant, Ray Adakai

Navajo Ray Adakai created this colorful inlay dragonfly pin pendant combo. Natural Spiny Oyster, Onyx, and Mother of Pearl. Sterling Silver. This pin/pendant is an older dead pawn piece. Item # 1718

$ 195.00     SOLD     Back

Navajo Ray Adakai created this colorful inlay dragonfly pin pendant that we recently obtained from a nice little pawn shop in Gallup, New Mexico. All the jewelry from this pawn shop was pawned by Native Americans living in the local area. Gallup is the "pawn capital" and "Indian jewelry capital" of the Southwest, close to the Navajo and Zuni reservations.

Adakai inlaid this large dragonfly pendant with natural Spiny Oyster, Onyx, and Mother of Pearl. Sterling Silver drops accent the piece and the antennae are made from twisted sterling silver wire. This is a beautiful example of Ray Adakai's work.

The pin/ pendant measures 3 inches long by 2-1/4 inch wide, weighs 22.6 grams. The exact age of the piece is unknown but it is in excellent condition! I obtained several Ray Adakai bracelets & rings from the same New Mexico pawn shop - someone must have cashed in their collection of Ray Adakai jewelry. Check my website for other Ray Adakai jewelry.
