These sterling silver and turquoise earrings were created by Albert & Jackie Cleveland, very talented Navajo artists who use traditional Native American symbols and stampwork in their designs. The genuine hand-cut turquoise stones are set in straight deep bezels, with scalloped & stamped silver settings.
The earrings measures 2-1/4" long and they weigh 6.9 grams each (lightweight so as not to drag down on your ear lobes). Hallmarked Sterling and "AJC", for Albert & Jackie Cleveland. Brand new and in perfect condition. Gift box and Certificate of Authenticity included with your purchase.
Matching pendant available (see last photo) and if you purchase both the pendant and the earrings, we will include a simple 18" sterling silver box chain free of charge.
About Albert Cleveland: Albert does traditional silver-smithing in a 1940's curio style. He likes using thunderbirds, waterbirds and other animals of traditional Navajo folklore. He melts the silver scrap down and shapes it into flat plates by rolling the ingots down by hand. Albert H. Cleveland was born in 1954 and belongs to the Dashchanii clan, Navajo. He is the son of Etta and Phillip Cleveland and brother of Bobby Cleveland. I have no additional information on Jeanette, except that she & Albert work together and sign their work together, as on this piece, AJC. I do not know how they are related (ie husband & wife or father & daugther). Sometimes, when Albert works alone, he will sign his pieces simply AC.
