This fantastic Native American handmade sterling silver & turquoise ring, was hand made by the master Navajo silversmith, L. Bruce Hodgins. The natural Morenci turquoise stone is a perfect sky blue color with natural black and silver matrix and set in a carved shadowbox setting.
Morenci turquoise is highly sought after for its blue color and its prized iron pyrite "fool's gold" matrix. The turquoise was a by-product of the Morenci copper mine in Arizona. For many years heavy-equipment operators at the mine would "lunch box" the high-grade turquoise out. Morenci turquoise is well known because it was one of the first American turquoises to come on the market. It is very difficult to obtain now because the mine is depleted. It is a very collectible turquoise.
The face of the ring measures 1-3/8" long by 1" wide, the band narrows to about 1/4" wide at the back. The ring weighs 29.4 grams. Size 9-1/2. This ring works well for a woman or a man.
Brand new and in perfect condition. Gift Box and Certificate of Authenticity included. Purchased directly from and hallmarked by the artist. Outstanding craftsmanship and one of a kind design, L. Bruce Hodgins provides the unexpected in native jewelry.
