Calvin Begay Navajo Earthtone Multigem Inlay Choker Necklace & Earring Set

Exquisite Calvin Begay Native American Sterling Silver Earthtone Multigem Inlaid Link Choker Necklace & Earring set, designed by Navajo artist, Calvin Begay. Jasper, Golden Tiger's eye, Wild Horse, Gaspeite, Black Onyx and Mother of Pearl. Item#1065

$ 799.99     Available: 1     Back

This outstanding Native American handcrafted Sterling Silver Multi stone Inlaid Link Choker Necklace was designed by Navajo artist, Calvin Begay.

This incredible necklace    features 47 individual links inlaid with Jasper, Golden Tiger's eye, Wild Horse, Gaspeite, Black Onyx and Mother of Pearl. The links range in size from the center link, which is 3/4" by 1/4", graduating down to 1/4" squares at the ends. The back of every bead is solid sterling silver. The total length is about   18" around when closed. There is a hidden clasp and safety chain.

The matching drop hinged earrings for pierced ears feature the same design and stones as the necklace. The top inlaid stud is 1/4" wide and the bottom rectangle is 5/8" by slightly more than 3/16" for a total length of 1".

Link inlay pieces are one of the most labor intensive type of Native American jewelry. In the case of this necklace, not only is each link channel inlaid with multiple tiny pieces of semi-precious stones, but then each bezel is created by hand and hand connected with hand made hinges.

Calvin Begay is an award winning artist, jeweler, designer and master craftsman. Starting as jewelry maker, he has evolved into a designer as well, creating copyrighted jewelry designs for A Touch of Santa Fe and other shops in Gallup, New Mexico. Calvin designed this necklace for his former employer, A Touch of Santa Fe of Gallup, New Mexico. After he designed the necklace, TSF retained the copyright and turned the execution over to the Native American silversmiths and lapidarists who work at TSF. This set is hallmarked Calvin Begay, TSF, and Sterling on the back of the clasp, on the earrings and it also stamped Calvin on the back of the largest center link.

Each piece of Calvin Begay jewelry is a unique handcrafted piece of jewelry - no two pieces are identical. We can order similar pieces in your desired size but please understand that we can not order carbon copies. This jewelry is not factory made it is handmade by Navajo artists who create unique one of a kind works of art.
