$ 295.00     Available: 1     Back

This gorgeous, generously sized, vintage handmade turquoise and white shell necklace was probably created by a member of the Santo Domingo tribe. It is from a private collection of southwestern Native American jewelry that we recently purchased from a family that "winnebaggoed" through Arizona, New Mexico & Colorado in the 1960-70's, buying Indian jewelry from some of the best galleries and from the local indigenous peoples.

  * This necklace features hand cut, drilled and rolled turquoise graduated heishi, and four white "kernals" at the center.
  * The white shell kernals measure 1" wide. The largest pieces of turquoise measures 3/4" wide, and the pieces then graduate down in size to the smallest pieces, that run about 1/4" wide.
  * The necklace measures about 24" long end to end.
  * Weighs about 5-1/2 ounces.
  * Big hook & eye fastener.
  * Excellent condition!

From private collection. circa 1960-70's.
