CALVIN BEGAY REVERSIBLE MULTI-GEM INLAID OVAL LINK BRACELET

Contemporary reversible double-sided oval link bracelet, designed by Navajo artist, Calvin Begay. One side is inlaid with turquoise, spiny oyster, lapis lazuli, purple sugalite and other stones. The opposite side is a oxidized silver overlay design. Measures 7-7/8" long, when closed. Item# 1054

$ 450.00     Available: 1     Back

This elegant contemporary original reversible oval link bracelet is one of Calvin Begay's innovative designs. The bracelet features nine large oval links, each measuring about 5/8" long by 1/2" wide. The links are inlaid with semi-precious stones and shells on one side. The other side is a silver overlay design. The inlays consist of Sleeping Beauty turquoise, Chinese turquoise, purple, red & orange spiny oyster, lapis lazuli, purple sugalite and other stones. The opposite side is silver overlay - Overlays are designs created on a separate sheet of sterling silver and then bonded to the base layer of silver make a true three dimensional design. The base layer is textured and oxidized to create more of a contrast between the two layers.

The bracelet measures 7-7/8" long, when closed. The clasp has the silver overlay design on both sides. There is a safety chain. The bracelet weighs about 44 grams.

This bracelet carries a retail value of more than more than $800.00 in galleries. Brand new and in perfect condition. Gift Box and Certificate of Authenticity included.

This bracelet was designed by Calvin for A Touch of Santa Fe in Gallup. Due to the double sided nature of this piece, there is no spot available for a signature or a hallmark. But I guarantee it to be a Calvin Begay designed piece.

Calvin Begay is an award winning artist, jeweler, designer and master craftsman. Starting as jewelry maker, he has evolved into a designer as well, creating copyrighted jewelry designs for A Touch of Santa Fe and other shops in Gallup, New Mexico. As his fame has spread, he has moved into a atelier system. He designs an item and turns the execution over to his apprentices, under his constant and total supervision. (For those unfamiliar with it, the atelier system is what allows great artists like Calvin to turn out more work than their individual hands and hours can accomplish.) Calvin’s work may be hallmarked Calvin or Begay or Calvin Begay, possibly with the hallmark of the Native American who did the inlay and/or TSF.

Each piece of Calvin Begay jewelry is a unique handcrafted piece of jewelry - no two pieces are identical. We can order similar pieces in your desired size but please understand that we can not order carbon copies. This jewelry is not factory made it is handmade by Navajo artists who create unique one of a kind works of art. More Calvin Begay jewelry bracelets, rings, pendants & earrings are available in our store.
