Native American Navajo Earl Plummer Turquoise Inlay Link Bracelet

Navajo hand made sterling silver turquoise inlaid link bracelet, entirely handmade by the 2011 IACA Artist of the Year, Earl Plummer. The bracelet measures 5/8" wide at the center and approximately 7-1/4" around (when closed). Item #3285

$ 350.00     Available: 1     Back

Navajo artist Earl Plummer created this lovely Sterling Silver Turquoise Inlaid Link Bracelet. The bracelet is expertly and entirely handmade from beginning to end. Earl does not cast his silver bracelets but instead hand makes each silver link and then painstakingly inlays them all by hand. There are 7 inlaid links approximately 7/8" long and over 1/8" deep. The bracelet measures 5/8" wide at the center and approximately 7-1/4" around (when closed). The bracelet is for a medium-sized ladies wrist. For reference, my wrist (shown in the last photo) is 6" around. There's a lock and a sterling silver safety chain.

Although there is great demand for his work, Earl has resisted the temptation to set up a shop with other people producing his work. Likewise, he does not cast the silver and gold for his designs. Instead, Earl builds every piece by hand from sheet silver, wire and natural stones.

Brand new and in perfect condition. Purchased directly and in person from the artist at          the 2011 IACA Spring Wholesale Market. Gift Box and Certificate of Authenticity included. Hallmarked by the artist.

Earl Plummer, a celebrated Navajo jeweler, was named the IACA Artist of the Year for 2011 at the Spring Market held in Santa Fe, New Mexico. "I'm really quite surprised by the honor!" says Plummer who has been a member of IACA since 2002 "You never know when something like this is going to happen, but it's good that it did." Earl's victory is definitely a sign of one's luck taking a turn for the better. Just last year, the jeweler had suffered a severe injury to his hand, costing him the ability to make a living for a year. From Thoreau, New Mexico, where he still lives, Earl began making jewelry at age 14 after watching and learning  from family members. He started with simple stamp work and has progressed to his fine sculpted inlay work of today. He works in both silver and gold and uses natural gemstones in his pieces.

Taking many of his design ideas from nature, Earl Plummer has won numerous awards over the years including prizes at the Gallup Intertribal Ceremonial, the Santa Fe Indian Market, as well as the Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair and Market. Earl's work has been featured in galleries throughout the United States such as the NAJA,  Home and Away Gallery, Wright's Indian Art Gallery, Sacred Bear Jewelry, Red Rock Trading Post and Turquoise House Gallery.
