Thomas Francisco - Navajo - Purple Spiny Oyster Cobblestone Inlay Bracelet

Navajo corn row / cobblestone mosaic inlay bracelet. Raised corn row / cobblestone shaped pieces of Purple Spiny Oyster are set in a single row end-to-end on this sterling silver cuff bracelet. The bracelet measures a bit over 3/8 inch wide and the inside end-to-end measurement is 5-1/4 inches plus there is a 1-1/4 inch gap. Item # 3143

This colorful corn row mosaic sterling silver bracelet is inlaid with purple Spiny Oyster. The inlay is set in a raised channel and covers the bracelet from end-to-end. The edges od the bracelet are intricately carved and polished smooth. The bracelet was created by Navajo jeweler, Thomas Francisco and has his hallmark. The bracelet is also marked sterling. Thomas Francisco is well-known for his corn row jewelry.
 
The bracelet measures a bit over 3/8 inch wide and the inside end-to-end measurement is 5-1/4 inches plus there is a 1-1/4 inch non-adjustablegap.  It weighs a 42.8 grams.

Corn Row Technique - Corn row is a notoriously difficult and time consuming mosaic inlay technique that is most often seen in Navajo jewelry. To achieve the proper effect, each stone must be individually rounded along its edges before being placed in its respective mosaic setting.
