This old pawn style Navajo hand made Sterling Silver bead necklace features handmade round beads and melon beads. The beads have been oxidized or "antiqued" to give them a subdued, rich tone. Largest bench beads measure 1/2" wide. Melon beads measure almost 2" long.

These beads are crafted of sterling silver by Navajo master silversmith Virginia Tso using a very labor intensive method. Each side of the bead must line up perfectly and the solder joints must be smooth and uniform. These beads are often referred to as 'Navajo Pearls' and the crafting of these beads is quickly becoming a lost art.
