This unique contemporary bracelet was made by award-winning master Navajo Indian silversmith Erick Begay. This piece displays “corn-row” inlay. This refers to multiple stones of the same size cut as cabochons. The darkened patterning that you see on the sterling silver base is made by an overlay technique that originated from the Hopis in the late 1930s, in which designs are cut out of one piece of silver that is then soldered to another solid piece of silver. The bottom sheet is blackened through oxidation, making the designs stand out in relief.

The artist calls this bracelet "Diminishing Light". The cuff bracelet measures 1-1/4" wide at the widest point and is inlaid with Kingman Turquoise, Mediterranean Coral and Lapis Lazuli.

The inside end-to-end measurement is a bit over 5-3/4” inside, 1-1/4” gap. Weighs 97 grams. Brand new and in perfect condition. Gift Box and Certificate of Authenticity included. Purchased direct and in person from the artist, Erick Begay.

About Erick Begay: Begay is a master silversmith and goldsmith with more than 20 years experience. He is also an award winning artist that has won several awards, including the Santa Fe Indian Market. His family has been involved in Native American Jewelry for generations. His mother, Frances Begay, taught him the art of silversmithing. He started making jewelry when he was eleven. When he turned 16 he became a full-time jeweler. In 1993, both Erick and his mother, moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and opened their current store.
