Royston turquoise comes from the Tonapah, Nevada area, and is known for its beautiful colors, ranging from deep green to rich, light blues set off by a heavy brown matrix. First discovered in 1902, and the oldest patented mine in Nevada, it is still active as an open pit mine but I've heard it is operated only twice a year.
About the artist: Stanley Parker is well known for his high quality traditionally styled silverwork. Stanley Parker was born in 1952 and raised on the Navajo reservation. Two things stand out about Stanley's work: his silver work is very precise and he is very careful in his choice of natural turquoise stones. His fine work commands high prices.
