Ervin Tsosie Navajo Micro Inlaid Sterling Silver Pendant

American Indian micro inlay pendant with a variety of stones, shells and tiny silver dots on a bed of Acoma black jet, created by Navajo artist Ervin Tsosie, measuring 2-1/2" long, including the over-sized inlaid bale. Item#1772

$ 550.00     Available: 1     Back

This contemporary Native American handmade pendant was created by Navajo artist, Ervin Tsosie. The pendant features a yei figure with a full head dress. Set in silver, the pendant and bale are both intricately inlaid with hundreds of tiny hand-cut, semi-precious stones such as turquoise, coral, lapis, jet and mother of pearl. Tsosie's attention to detail is meticulous, and his pieces are so finely crafted, it boggles the mind.

The pendant measures 2-1/2" long, including the over-sized inlaid bale, and weighs 24 grams. The main pendant measures 1-5/8" long by 1" wide by 1/4" thick. The bale has a usable interior diameter of over 1/2-inch, perfect for silver beaded necklaces or several strands of beads.

Brand new and in perfect condition. Gift Box and Certificate of Authenticity included. Hallmarked by the artist.

Ervin Tsosie is a self-taught artist. He has been making jewelry since he was 17, and much of his work is based on ceremonial and mythical figures and spiritual beings representing Navajo culture. His ideas come from meditation, ceremonials and prayer.

Tsosie’s work has appeared in various shows including the Santa Fe Indian Market and Intertribal Ceremonial, Gallup and can also be seen at many Southwestern shops and galleries.

The beautiful 7-strand turquoise, coral & silver bead necklace handmade by Mary & Everett Teller and shown with this pendant in the last photo is sold separately (see item#2174).
